sewing and repairing clothes

Join us and passionate teachers from Sew Make Create to learn about the impact of the fashion industry on the environment and your health, and easy ways to reduce it.

This hands-on workshop will teach you some basic ways and hand mending techniques for reviving and repairing old clothes to give them a new life.

Bring along one or two items from your wardrobe in need of TLC, or that need mending, and our teachers will help you mend them on the day or show you how to do it yourself at home.Coachwood Room

All materials provided as well as complimentary morning tea. Beginners welcome.

We are hosting this event in the lead up to Fashion Revolution. April 24 marks Fashion Revolution Day; the anniversary of the Rana Plaza factory collapse in Bangladesh, and a day of advocacy to encourage sustainability and transparency in fashion supply chains.

Please noteWhile our activities are FREE to attend, they do cost money to run. If you have booked and can no longer come, please let us know as soon as you can. We often have a wait list for events and can fill your place with advanced notice. We try to run our program sustainably, keeping catering and materials wastage to a minimum. Thank you.
