Goodsmiths was born from a simple idea: what if the things we bought also left a positive impact on the society around us?
And with all the different brands out there competing for attention, how do we find these good places to shop easily? There’s approximately 20,000 social enterprises in Australia, we’re told, and all of these are vying for airspace with for-profit businesses out there too.
So Goodsmiths was born to bring together social enterprises and conscientious, discerning shoppers who want their purchasing decisions to count for something more.
All of our participating social enterprises have a home on our website. We tell each business’ story and highlight their offering – sending new customers directly to you. The site is supported by marketing campaigns during key times of the year such as Christmas and Mothers’ Day, where we cover all bases with digital marketing initiatives and also go offline with targeted print campaigns, PR and media outreach.
We’ve done it before, with The Good Xmas Trail in 2015 and 2016. These campaigns resonated with shoppers looking to spend more thoughtfully: including a 260% increase in web sessions, 255% increase in page views and 488% increase in click throughs year-on-year.
So, we figured we needed to stick around a little longer, not just for Christmas.
Every business that you’ll find on the Goodsmiths site makes a huge difference to the community, society and environment. Goodsmiths is here to celebrate that. We’re in awe of the lasting impression your work is making, and we want more people to know about it.
Join us here, and be a Goodsmith.
