Every snack or coffee you purchase from STREAT directly supports the training and job opportunities of some amazing young people
What started with a little food cart has now evolved into seven different hospitality businesses across Melbourne, which have so far provided over 60,000 hours of training to over 900 young employees.
You can visit STREAT for a delicious breakfast or lunch, award-winning speciality coffee and artisan goods, baked in-house at their Cromwell Manor. They are also so able to provide both venue space and personalised catering for events at their Collingwood location.
STREAT’s chefs are passionate about food, flavour and fresh ingredients; everything is made from scratch using high quality, seasonal produce, sourced from local farmers that care about the planet.
Kate Barella and Rebecca Scott founded STREAT back in 2008, with the aim of tapping into a precious community resource – youth. They created their social enterprise with the purpose of giving a helping hand to those suffering from chronic homelessness, drug dependencies, family history of violence, or mental health issues, and to provide them with a place where they can belong.
Besides their work with youth people, STREAT also focuses on helping the planet – all of their food packaging is fully biodegradable, they only use the services of a local carbon-neutral printer, and are big on recycling and composting.
