For people who love the way good coffee and food help friendships flourish and conversations flow.
Good things to buy
Good things we do
We pay a Fairtrade Premium to our growers based on every kilogram of beans we roast. This directly improves water quality for 44 growers and their families in Honduras. It also empowers Peruvian growers through the financial opportunity of owning their own businesses. The good-thing here is that we buy from an all women-owned grower cooperative in Peru. Pretty special and powerful in a society where women have few economic opportunities. At the same time, it is sustaining and reforesting the coffee regions of Ethiopia. Organic coffee cultivation protects the health of communities and encourages forward thinking to safeguard sustainable futures.
As a 2019 finalist in the Australian Shared Value Awards and the Sunshine Coast Business Awards, Montville Coffee is being celebrated for its contribution to global economic, social and environmental progress. We have also obtained the elusive B-Corp Certification for being a transparent, responsible business.
Montville Coffee’s story started nearly two decades ago when founders Karen and Richard Barnett returned to Richard’s hometown on the Sunshine Coast. They had a vision of establishing the first Certified Fairtrade Organic Coffee Roaster in Queensland. Their commitment to addressing the environmental and social challenges in the coffee supply chain has only deepened as the company has grown.
Today, Montville Coffee has emerged from their roots as the Sunshine Coast’s favourite local coffee roaster to a nationally loved and respected brand.
